Project overview

The Shire of Yarra Ranges has placed Amendment C67 to the Yarra Ranges Planning Scheme on public exhibition until Monday 30 June.

The Chirnside Park Country Club is pleased Amendment C67 is now on public exhibition as it provides an opportunity for all those interested to inspect the proposal and make submissions on it.

As it currently operates the Club is environmentally and financially unsustainable and this planning scheme amendment presents a chance to move forward and unlock the club’s potential.

The amendment would rezone the Chirnside Park Country Club’s golf course from its current Special Use Zone 5 to a Residential 1 Zone.

This would then allow for a 450-lot residential development with more than 12 hectares of public open space, with the existing Kingswood Drive clubhouse, tennis courts and bowling club will be retained.

For a copy of all amendment documents, please contact the Shire directly. Kris Hansen in the Strategic Planning Department at Yarra Ranges Shire Council can be contacted on telephone 9294 6195.

The Planning Scheme Amendment can be inspected during office hours at any Shire of Yarra Ranges Community Link. It is also on the Department of Planning and Community Development web site at www.dpcd.vic.gov.au/planning/publicinspection

An information session will be held at the Club on Sunday, 22 June between 2.00 – 4.00pm where the project team and council officers will be available to answer any questions.
