The Chirnside Park Country Club (CPCC) and CSR Building Products Ltd (CSR)
have agreed to a conditional commercial transaction which provides, amongst
other things:
•
that; CSR will purchase a portion of the site where the CPCC currently operates
its golf course, with the aim of developing a 450 lot residential subdivision;
•
In exchange, CSR will offer CPCC a major part of its Victoria Road quarry
for the development of a new specifically designed 18-hole golf course for
the CPCC.
CSR’s policy is to act responsibly, ensuring that the company and its representatives deal effectively and appropriately with all members of the communities in which it operates to encourage and earn their support and co-operation.
At its recent Ferntree Gully development, CSR worked with the local community to redevelop a former quarry site into a 75 lot residential estate.
The Oakhaven
Development
Inspired by nature, the CSR vision for this development will incorporate:
•
Water sensitive urban design principles
•
The dedication of more than 20 per cent of the site to open space, and
•
The development of two wetland areas, providing a habitat for local wildlife
as well as a waterway for the community to use and enjoy.
Viable existing vegetation will be retained to rehabilitate and enhance the inlets of water, an integral part of the development’s open space objectives. The CPCC site’s historically significant oak tree will also be retained.
New trees will be planted and many of the unviable and diseased plants currently on the CPCC site will be replaced to pave the way for new and healthier habitat to form.
Specialist archaeological, environmental, flora and fauna investigations will ensure that the development scheme addresses all the local council requirements.
Traffic consultants expect the proposed development not tohave any significant impact on the existing operating conditions of local roads.
Throughout the development process, CSR will continuously monitor the environmental impacts and strive to create a development which fosters nature and sustainability.
