Economic benefits

The Chirnside Park Country Club (CPCC) and CSR Building Products Ltd (CSR) have agreed to a conditional commercial transaction which provides, amongst other things:
• That CSR will purchase a portion of the site where the CPCC currently operates its golf course, with the aim of developing a 450 lot residential subdivision;
• In exchange, CSR will offer CPCC a major part of its Victoria Road quarry for the development of a new specifically designed 18-hole golf course for the CPCC.

While striving to deliver value for its shareholders through this project, CSR is focused on implementing strategies that deliver economic benefits to the CPCC and its members, with a flow on of benefits to the local community.

Redeveloping the current CPCC golf course site into a residential development of approximately 450 lots aims to provide long lasting benefits for the local community and the local environment.

It will also create local employment and investment opportunities during the project’s construction phase.

By selling the land currently occupied by the golf course, CPCC will be in a stronger financial position to secure its future growth.

Selling the existing golf course land to CSR and relocating its golf course to CSR’s Victoria Road site will provide an updated and improved golf course with modern club house facilities and a full range of services to cater for members and guests’ golfing needs.

This is a positive step towards the CPCC being better placed to attract new members and retain existing members, providing greater surety for the CPCC’s ongoing financial viability.

Existing club facilities will also benefit with the club house, tennis courts and bowling greens all to be enhanced. Continuing to operate from the present location, upgraded facilities will be available for the community to use and enjoy.
