Development tees off

A conditional commercial arrangement between CSR Building Products Ltd (CSR), a fully owned subsidiary of CSR Limited, and the Chirnside Park Country Club (CPCC) develops the framework for the following:
• the relocation of the present CPCC golf course to a new, purpose designed and built site on Victoria Road Lilydale, with a full range of golfing services and facilities to be enjoyed by members and guests;
• the retention of a portion of the CPCC site such that CPCC may continue to offer the other recreational activities, which will also cater for the upgrades and enhancements to the existing Kingswood Drive club house, tennis courts and bowling greens;
• a residential development on the current golf course site of approximately 450 to 500 housing lots which will dedicate more than 20% of the area as green open space;
• water sensitive urban design principles to guide the residential development;
• economic benefits including employment and contracting opportunities during development; and
• bike paths, walking tracks and ecological wildlife waterways added to the area.

Contemporary in every way, this proposal provides a viable, long-term response for the site – consistent with local values and surroundings – not just a quick fix.

Once complete, Oakhaven, with its series of recreational spaces will almost triple the number of local parks in a 500 metre radius of the CPCC club house.

CSR is currently undertaking other residential estates along the east coast of Australia in many challenging infill or disused sites and recently completed its residential development, Peregrine Heights at Ferntree Gully.

As with all infill projects CSR recognise the community consultation process is necessary
and meaningful, allowing all parties to express opinions and be heard.
CSR is also committed to informative and consultative interactions, such as those which took place with the recent project in nearby Ferntree Gully where CSR fostered a forum of information sharing and a working relationship with the local council.

At Oakhaven, residents will be able to enjoy the area’s natural delights with walking paths and bike tracks throughout the development.

The landscaping is creative and site-responsive, designed to meet community requirements, wetlands will support local wildlife, while waterways will enhance the open space system.

CSR is confident the result will see a golf course - that for more than 30 years was privately owned - transformed to a residential development, at least twenty per cent of which will be open space. CSR is keen to ensure the area’s character is maintained, incorporating open space, numerous park areas and clean and green design principles, will help us do this.

CSR also looks forward to working with you as this exciting development takes shape. Should you have any questions or require further information visit www.oakhaven.com.au

Over the next four years Chirnside Park will experience some exciting changes.

CSR Limited is pleased to be playing a role in making that happen.
