The Chirnside Park Country Club (CPCC) and CSR Building Products Ltd (CSR)
have agreed to a conditional commercial transaction which provides, amongst
other things:
•
That CSR will purchase a portion of the site where the CPCC currently operates
its golf course, with the aim of developing a residential subdivision;
• In exchange, CSR will offer CPCC a major part of its Victoria Road
quarry for the development of a new specifically designed 18-hole golf course
for
the CPCC.
A subsidiary of CSR Limited, CSR Building Products Limited (CSR), is working on a plan that will see CPCC’s golf course relocated and the land transformed to approximately a 450 lot residential estate.
The planned residential development on the current golf course lands, Oakhaven, will be guided by water sensitive design, with twenty per cent of the estate to be designated open green space.
The proposal includes adding waterways, bike tracks and walking paths to the area, for all local residents to use and enjoy.
Contemporary in every way, this project will provide a viable long-term response for the site, consistent with local values and its surroundings.
Plans include CPCC retaining the portion of the site which houses the club house, tennis and bowling facilities, with an intention that these are further upgraded and enhanced for the ongoing enjoyment and use of the community.
The proposed new golf course site, which will be located on CSR’s land at Victoria Rd, Lilydale, will feature an updated course design, modern club house facilities and a full range of members and guests’ golfing services.
CSR is responsible for a number of similar successful residential projects across Australia, including the recently completed Peregrine Heights Estate, in Ferntree Gully.
